Mathematical foundations of quantum information and computing

Overview

This week we are exploring some generalizations of the mathematical foundations we saw in Week 1!

More specifically, we will do the following:

• Lecture 1: Density Matrices (Section 9 in the book)
• Lecture 2: Density Matrices continued (Section 9 in the book)
• Lecture 3: General Measurements and observables (handwritten lecture notes)
• Lecture 4: Schrodingers equation and Hamiltonian time evolution (handwritten lecture notes)
• Lecture 5: Bonus lecture! TBD :)

Problem Set

The third problem set consists of two parts: The first part is a written part, which can be found at this link. The second part is a programming part -- exploring the Deutsch and Grover Algorithms in Qiskit! -- which can be found at this link. The deadline for submission is 10pm on Thursday the 23rd of October.
