Fundamentals of Quantum Computing

Overview

This week we will see an overview of the foundations of quantum information theory and quantum computing. To do this, we will follow closely learning resources provided by IBM Quantum.

More specifically, we will do the following:

• Lecture 1: Single systems - classical and quantum. (See also handwritten lecture notes here)
• Lecture 2: Multiple systems - classical and quantum. (See also handwritten lecture notes here)
• Lecture 3: Quantum circuits
• Lecture 4: Entanglement in action
• Lecture 5: Quantum algorithmic foundations

Almost all material for this week can also be found in "Unit 1" of the book "Understanding Quantum Information and Computation" by John Watrous.
